yaaaaaay~ final draft of the resume! or i hope so anyway. i'm hoping to submit this to a couple of places, and seeing what feedback i get. so many great opportunities for shots today but i left my camera at home, so a big disappointment there. the moon looked nice tonight too but a moon isn't something you can creep quietly up to and snap a pic of. in other words, my zoom SUCKS. besides that, it was a fun day considering the long walk, which i would normally not enjoy -__-;; and it's always great to have good company. peter's holding a barbecue this sunday. wonder how many people are coming. tired. updating ipod and then hopefully some wink.

I still say you should add Lollicup if ever you wanted to apply for the food industry. But overall experience is good because they'll ask what were you doing in the time between your two jobs and it'll make you look lazy.

Kit,
I ran across your blog by following The Stolen Child in profiles. It’s one of the best works of fiction of read in years. I’m glad to see so many people picking it up.
I also saw that you had a draft of your resume posted. I hope I don’t come across as presumptuous or rude, but I have a good bit of experience reviewing resumes and recruiting, so I thought I might offer a couple of suggestions for a later draft. All-in-all, your resume presents well.

General:
*Make sure that line-items use the same format, tense, voice, etc. This demonstrates editorial care and makes the document read more easily. It can also reduce ambiguity.
*Use single verbs rather than compound words, where possible (Consider “Establish” rather than “Set up”). This makes the resume sound more articulate, and can again reduce ambiguity.

Staples:
*If you have sales and customer-service experience, make sure they pop on your list of responsibilities. Sales skills are in huge demand right now.
*You might consider generalizing “UPS Counter” to “Shipping”. Many of the major carriers’ shipping systems are quite similar.

Additional Skills
*Consider naming one or two of the major dialects you speak. Most people don’t know much (if anything) about Chinese dialects, but this is an impressive skill, worth emphasizing.

I hope my suggestions are received in the spirit in which they are given. It’s a good resume. Good luck with the job hunt.
